Overview of your COG Pro Logbook
The logbook is organized like a notebook, with tabbed dividers showing on the right hand side. This section is for crop information. If you are seeking GAP certification or you raise livestock, there are sections for that, accessed by tabs along the bottom right hand side (additional fees apply). Here is an overview of the main sections of the crop notebook:
In the first section you will enter Farm Information about your facilities and the materials you use. This is information that does not change much from year to year and will only need to be entered at the beginning of the record keeping process. For your convenience you may also add additional Farm Information ‘on the fly’ while you are logging activity records.
In the Activity Records, you will record your fertility inputs, field work, pest control, weeding, yield data, field plans and other activities.
In the next section you can organize information on the Seeds, Plants and Rootstocks used in your operation. You will be prompted to fill in the information that is required for certification. Entering additional information, such as catalog numbers and prices, will allow you to generate actual purchase orders ready for submission to your seed or plant provider.
You will use the Regulatory Reports section to compile the data you have entered. For your convenience, a single click will produce all the reports required for your yearly certification inspection.
In the last section, you can Generate Custom Analytical Reports for each year. Using various filters, you can further organize the data to develop useful analytical views of your operation.
To get started, please select the Farm Information tab and enter some basic information about your operation. Then begin adding Activity Records to build your COG Pro logbook.
